Smart Wasp New Funtion Fully Automatic Pallet Wrapping Machine
--Pallet Grip System:Lock your goods on pallets
Product overview
• Name: Pallet Grip System (film bottom narrowed to film rope)
• Core concept: During stretch-wrap operations, film applied to the pallet bottom is narrowed (gathered/necked) into a continuous, high-strength “film rope” that loops around the pallet and product stack. This rope creates a durable mechanical grip between the pallet base and the load, securing items throughout transport and handling without relying solely on external straps.
--
How it works (process and mechanics)
• Film application: Standard stretch film (or a film designed for the system) is dispensed and applied to the pallet bottom. A gathering/necking device narrows the film strip width to form a concentrated rope-like strand.
• Rope placement: The film rope is routed so it passes under/around the pallet and up the sides of the load, or forms a wrap around the pallet perimeter at the bottom. Multiple ropes can be created for multi-point grip.
• Tensioning: The film rope is tensioned during wrapping to generate clamping pressure between the pallet and the product. The elasticity and memory of stretch film maintain steady grip even as the load experiences vibration or settling.
• Redundancy: Because the rope is relatively narrow and strong, localized damage (e.g., by a forklift tine) is less likely to cause a complete breach; the rest of the rope and wrap continue to provide retention.
Design variants and options
• Single bottom rope: One rope runs along the pallet bottom perimeter—simple, fast, for lighter loads.
• Multi-point bottom ropes: Two or more ropes placed at different points on the pallet underside for heavier, uneven loads.
• Combined bottom rope + full-wrap: Bottom rope combined with conventional top-to-bottom wraps to secure tall or unstable stacks.
• Integrated corner grips: Rope placement focused on corners to resist tipping and sliding.
• Reinforced rope: Use of co-extruded or laminated film (e.g., film with embedded high-strength filaments) to boost tensile strength.
• Adhesive-enhanced rope: A film variant with a slightly tacky surface to improve grip against pallet wood or product surfaces.
Operational benefits (expanded)
• Enhanced load stability: Concentrated grip at the pallet base reduces relative movement between pallet and payload, preventing load shift and product fall during severe vibrations, braking, and cornering.
• Damage resilience: Narrow, tensioned rope localizes damage; even if a portion is cut by a forklift, the remainder of the rope and surrounding wraps can sustain retention, reducing total loss risk.
• Cost and time efficiency:
• Potential to replace horizontal strapping in many situations, eliminating strap tools, sealers, or banding machines.
• Faster cycle times when integrated into automatic wrapping lines; fewer manual operations.
• Reduced damage claims and returns due to improved security.
• Versatility: Works with many pallet types (wood, plastic, corrugated slip-sheets) and product shapes, especially stacks, boxed goods, and shrink-wrapped items.
• Sustainability: If using recyclable LLDPE and reducing metal/plastic strapping usage, net packaging waste can be lower. Film usage can be optimized by adjusting rope width and number of passes.
Use cases and industries
• Food & beverage: Palletized cases that must remain upright and undamaged during long hauls.
• Consumer goods & retail: Preventing product shift in mixed SKU pallets.
• Pharmaceuticals & medical supplies: Secure transport with minimized tamper points.
• Commerce fulfillment centers: Faster throughput with reduced strapping operations.
• Automotive components: Heavy but compact loads where concentrated bottom grip reduces slippage.
Choosing the right pallet wrapping solution can significantly improve efficiency, reduce errors and optimise operational costs!
--Smart Wasp X100a is such fully automatic pallet wrapping machine equipped with a precise Pallet Grip film system. It automatically rolls the LLDPE film into a high-strength rope shape, securely locking the pallet and the goods together. This fully meets the customer's requirements.
--It supports 380% pre-stretching, 20-25 pallets per hour efficient operation, fully automatic film cutting and clamping, which can replace the horizontal strapping machine, significantly reducing labor and film material costs.
--The combination of ropes and films is suitable for the heavy-load requirements of multiple industries, balancing stability and intelligence, ensuring the safe transportation of goods throughout the process.
